Nomad Visa
The Digital Nomad Visa is valid for six months and can then be renewed for further six months, without the applicant becoming a tax resident.
With this visa – specific for remote workers – you can live in Portugal for about 1 year or apply for residency and stay in the country for a longer period of time, the residency visa can be renewed for 5 years.
Work Visa
There is no official term for a visa that allows you to work in Portugal. In essence, a Portuguese Work Visa is either a short-stay visa that allows you to work in Portugal for a time not exceeding 90 days or a temporary residence permit that allows you to work in Portugal for a time exceeding 3 months.
A temporary residence permit can be renewed after 2 years for an additional 3 years. After 5 years, you can apply for permanent residence or Portuguese citizenship.
Golden Visa
The Golden Visa program in Portugal is a residency by investment program that allows non-European Union citizens to obtain a residence permit in Portugal by investing in the country.
The program was launched in 2012 and has become increasingly popular among foreign investors.
